Verde Urbano

Architect, full professor of Urbanism at the Politecnico di Milano, she has been head of the Department of Architecture and Planning. She has been visiting scholar at the IURD of the University of California in Berkeley, and visiting professor in the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio – University of the Italian Switzerland. She directed the “Design and Communication” project of the Master plan of Rome, projected the new plan of Jesi (in the Marche region) and coordinated the territorial project of the Esino Valley (in the same region). She was consultant for the urban plan of Bologna and member of the scientific committee for the Territorial plan of Emilia Romagna region. Now she is the coordinator of the scientific committee for the urban plan of Modena (in the Emilia-Romagna region). She has been editor of the journal “Urbanistica” and is the director of Planum, the European journal of Urbanism online (www. planum.net). She is author of books and essays, published in Italy and abroad. From 2011 to 2016 she has been Deputy Mayor for Planning, Environment, Urban Quality and Historical City of the Municipality of Bologna.
